What can you do when you are targeted in some hateful activities and your public communication is commented with the content disseminating disinformation or hate speech?

REPORT the post and the platform moderator will check it out. In case the message contains for example incitement to violence or threats of violence, you can also report it to the police.

SEEK HELP by reaching out to campaigns such as “get the trolls out”.

DELETE any comments containing vulgar language.

BLOCK trolls’ accounts to make sure they cannot come back.

HIDE the post from the comments section.

IGNORE IT, do not “feed the troll”. Just move on.

RESPOND if you think you can engage in dialogue.

COUNTER with emotional messaging.
